Four artistic camps where they worked with young musicians and performers around music and theatre.
On 31/8, the European Caravan will visit Antwerp and play 2 shows in the performing arts centre for children and young people, HetPaleis. Keep an eye on our socials for ticket reservations (13h30 and 15h30).
Since 2 years, Madam Fortuna has been working with partners from Poland (Teatr Brama), Germany (Alarmtheatr), Spain (Taller de Músics, Carabutsi) and North Macedonia (YCC Bitola) on a project around “voices”.
At the end of August, both disciplines will come together and you can expect 40 talented young people from the 4 corners of Europe to show the best of themselves in a collective creation.
In May they went to Goleniów, a nice village in Poland just an hour from the German border where partner Teatr Brama is based.
The youngsters from European Caravan had the pleasure of taking part, along with 400 people in the Rock Opera called “Love Will not die”, a performance about war and love.
For a week, the 20 young performers from Belgium, Germany and Poland of Europan Caravan worked together with dancers, fire jugglers, musicians, stiltwalkers from home and abroad. All the associative life of Goleniów was involved with giant puppets, colourful flags, marching armies, motards… A fantastic experience that everyone will carry with them all their lives.
In June it was Barcelona’s turn. 20 Young musicians from Belgium, Northern Macedonia and Catalonia came together and made 3 compositions. Compositions where they could literally and figuratively make their voices heard around themes that are important to them. This time, the partner Taller de Músic hosted it in the popular “Raval” district.
At the end of the week, they went to the streets and performed 2 of the 3 songs theatrically in the centre of Barcelona and brought the heard and unheard voices to the place where everyone meets, “the public space”.
