Alarmtheater
The AlarmTheater has been an independent theater with its own venue in the west of Bielefeld since 1993. They understand theater works as an integrating element of the resources of all participating people and as an opportunity for actors and audiences in aesthetic education.
They combine social activity and artistic expression. They are looking for structures and an overall concept that intervene acutely and have a lasting effect. They are aware of our social responsibility, not only as a cultural center but also as an educational and meeting place. They examine reality and ask where we come from, what kind of world we live in and what visions we have.
They combine social and socio-political commitment with art. Cross-art in-house productions and performances on socially relevant topics are developed, as well as cultural projects using various artistic means; this includes projects in cooperation with regional, national and international partners from art and culture, as well as social and socio-cultural institutions.
The goal is to take up acute issues and create inspiration to reflect, pause, dream and act. We stage artistically high-quality productions. They work with people of different ages and backgrounds. They take up existentially relevant topics. They realize our theater work in cooperation with local, regional and international cooperation partners. “Building bridges – bridges of mutual understanding.”
