MIR Association is a voluntary non-profit organisation established in 1998 aimed at defending the wider social interest of the Roma population, improving the socio-economic situation of Roma, underprivileged groups and ethnic communities, and supporting democracy, civil society, and human rights.
The values of MIR Association are faith and humanity, equality and rights for all, high moral values, standards through good team cooperation and communication, dedication, punctuality, responsibility and timely execution of tasks that determines the organisation as a place of trust, where people know they can go to for advice, assistance or guidance in resolving an issue.
During these years MIR has implemented more than 100 projects for multi-ethnic integration of Roma children and youths, intercultural mediation, and social integration of the Roma community. In addition to the mobility of interventions, MIR is a partner and member of several European networks that act in the interest of social and multi-ethnic ‘integration of socially vulnerable categories.
In the last 10 years, MIR has also involved young Roma and young non-Roma from other ethnic communities in their activities through the prism of art and music, aimed at breaking down barriers between them and raising the level of social artistic cohesion.
MIR is a partner of The European Caravan, a project for social artistic cohesion between young Roma and non-Roma from all over Europe since 2014.
